Mixmag contents page analysis.

Mixmag use two pages for there contents page, which could be a bad idea as they are not presented as a double page spread and it doesn’t tell you there is another contents page on the other side this could mislead the reader into thinking there is only one.
The images used are linked to articles and many pictures have the page number embossed on them this is a good technique as the picture draws a lot more attention than the text so its good to use this idea for the bigger articles Mixmag also uses a different type of font for the numbering as well this makes the article feel a lot more important. The text is very clear there is only a different more oddly shaped lettering used for contents the numbers used on the pictures match this. The text on the first page uses a bold text for the article headline the smaller font below to describe the article in short, it’s very easy to read text not distorted or given an effect which is good as it gives the magazine a clear house style. The text on the second page is relatively the same except for they underline the article these articles are Fashion, Tech and music these three articles feature in every issue this is why they are on the second page because its not as important for the reader to know this is included as its in every issue. The pitures used for the contents page link very cleverly to the dance scene the main image on the contents page looks like two girls at a club this links to the article well as its called don’t stay in : your complete party guide. The main image on page two is also very good as it looks very fashion orientated because of the elegant pose and the way she is dressed is very different and out there. They also use images of artists featured.
Mixmag use a very pacific house style for there contents page, using two page one for main articles that don’t always feature the other for main topics that always feature. The pictures and charters match well and you can see the links with a photo and article.
